In connection with the beginning of the new academic year, from September 10 to October 10, a safety month "Attention, children!" will take place on the territory of the republic.
    Despite the fact that the total number of road accidents, as well as deaths and injuries in accidents decreased against the background of increasing number of vehicles every year on the territory of the country, as well as the capital, 26 young children died and 122 were injured as a result of road transport incidents involving children and adolescents on the territory of the republic for 7 months of this year, which causes serious concern.

    The main purpose of the "Attention, children!" Safety month is to strengthen preventive measures to prevent road accidents involving children and adolescents, as well as to instill safe behavior among schoolchildren and increase the role of the state road police in improving the effectiveness of the educational process.

    According to the instructions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on the eve of the month, an analysis of road traffic accidents involving children and adolescents will be conducted, and as a result, specific preventive measures will be taken to eliminate the causes and conditions of their occurrence, appropriate measures, taking into account a repeated survey of road conditions on the territories of educational institutions, as well as, the places where children and adolescents gather together, the routes of their movement, and the safe organization of traffic, including, unsuitable road signs will be replaced with new ones, road markings will be made and other necessary activities will be conducted.

    It should be noted that in connection with the safety month, which will start on September 10, the State Traffic Police of the Baku city MPD and the Center for Afterschool Education No. 46 prepared a plan for joint activities. According to the plan, in order to instill in children the skills of safe behavior on the streets and roads, it is planned to conduct open classes in schools on the traffic rules and other necessary enlightening actions.
