On October 8, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Ramil Usubov received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Mexican States to our country Juan Rodrigo Labardini Flores.
Welcoming the guest, the minister mentioned that Mexico is one of the first countries recognizing the independence of our Republic, recently, bilateral cooperation has expanded in several areas, and our countries support each other in solving some of the issues of mutual interest in the international arena.
Then Colonel General Ramil Usubov spoke about the problems we faced in the early years of independence, the occupation of our lands, the tense socio-political and criminogenic situation, the measures taken after great leader Heydar Aliyev's return to the power at the request of people, including reforms in the internal affairs bodies, and the reforms that cover all spheres of society carried out under the leadership of the worthy successor of the course of the great leader, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev, as well as the achievements in the field of decisive fight against crime, and the protection of the public order.
The Minister of Internal Affairs underlining the cooperation between internal affairs bodies within the framework of the International Criminal police Organization (Interpol) in accordance with the political will of the heads of state over the past years, emphasized the significance of direct relationship between MIAs, the interest of the organization on this issue led by him and certain steps taken in this direction. It was noted that the project on “cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the United Mexican States” was developed.
Ambassador Juan Rodrigo Labardini Flores thanked for the warm reception and detailed information, expressed his satisfaction with the sustainable stability in our country, exemplary protection of tranquillity, and stressed that our republic is one of the few states in the world in terms of ensuring the security, he also noted that he will strive for further expansion of cooperation between our countries in all spheres.
A number of issues of mutual interest were also discussed at the meeting.
