Suspected illegal drug trafficking network members exposed.

As a result of the operational-search measures carried out by the Khatai District Police Office Criminal Investigation Department, the Drug Enforcement Division and the 37th Police Station officers, members of the network dealing with the illegal drug turnover and drug trafficking.
Thus, during an operation based on incoming information, the resident of the capital accused of committing the above-mentioned crimes, previously convicted Murad Mammadov, was detained together with his "Volkswagen" car.
During the inspection of the car, 25,324 grams of heroin, 26 methadone pills with high psychotropic contents, one shotgun without any relevant documents, and in addition to that, at his residence 101,686 grams of heroin were detected and taken over.
With the continued measures, identities of those who were selling heroin and psychotropic pills to M. Mammadov were determined in a short time. As a result of the realized search operation, other members of the group dealing with drug trafficking, Lankaran city residents Yalchin Gurbanov and Zamiq Javadov were also detained by the police. When conducting personal inspection 100,840 grams of heroin and 100 methadone pills were seized from Z. Javadov, and 2,985 grams of opium from Y. Gurbanov and 8 kilograms of dried marijuana from his car. During the investigation it was established that after acquired drugs from an unknown citizen of Iran the member of the gang, Y. Gurbanov sent them in parts through Z. Javadov to M. Mammadov for sale. M.Mammadov, in his turn, had to send the money he had acquired after selling drugs in Baku to Y. Gurbanov to Lankaran city.
In relation with the fact, a criminal case has been initiated in accordance with the relevant articles of the Criminal Code at the Khatai District Police Department Criminal Investigation Office regarding the detainees, and the Khatai District Court issued an arrest warrant regarding them.
