Law-enforcement officers of the Narimanov District Police Department continue a series of operations against people involved in illicit drug trafficking.

The residents of the capital Royal Shahhuseynov, Rahid Mammadov, Kanan Niftaliyev, Mirali Sadigov, and Samir Aliyev have been detained over the past 10 days. A total of 13 kilograms of hard narcotic drugs, such as heroin, opium, marijuana, methamphetamine, as well as 660 banned psychotropic methadone and pregabalin pills, were found with them. It has been established that the detainees are among the main members of the network engaged in drug trafficking in the capital.

The criminal cases have been initiated by Narimanov DPD under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code. In respect of each detainee, a pre-trial restriction in the form of detention was chosen by a court. Measures are continuing to detain other drug couriers colluded with these individuals.
