On March 12th, the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs celebrate the anniversary of their establishment. On this occasion, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel General Vilayat Eyvazov, the leadership of the Internal Troops, and military personnel visited the Alley of Honor to respectfully commemorate the memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
Afterward, they visited the Martyrs' Alley, where the sons of the homeland who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the republic are laid to rest.
On that day, a solemn ceremony was held at the Main Department of the Internal Troops. The event was attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel General Vilayat Eyvazov.

First, a moment of silence was observed to honor the precious memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, as well as the military personnel who lost their lives for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country, and all martyrs.
On the occasion of this significant day, Colonel General Vilayat Eyvazov, who conveyed the best wishes of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev to the personnel, emphasized that the traditions of military building, laid by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, continue to be successfully upheld and developed today.

The Minister stated that, thanks to the attention and care of the esteemed President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the Internal Troops have become a professional unit capable of fulfilling any assigned combat mission with high quality, and one of the guarantors of stability and pillars of statehood. He also highlighted that purposeful measures have been taken to improve the material and technical base, barracks and living conditions, and to equip military units with modern weapons, equipment, and special tools. He proudly noted that the President has highly appreciated the courage demonstrated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Internal Troops in ensuring the territorial integrity of our country, as well as the services provided by military personnel in cooperation with police officers in maintaining public order and security throughout the republic, including in the cities and regions liberated from occupation. It was stated that, in the fight against crime, the protection of public order and the rule of law, the neutralization of armed criminal groups, and during prestigious international events held in our country, such as “COP29”, the personnel of the troops have duly fulfilled their service duties.

The Minister emphasized that the awarding of state honors to military personnel who distinguished themselves in service on the eve of their professional holiday is a clear expression of the esteemed President's high regard and trust in the efforts of the troops' personnel.
Concluding the event, Minister V. Eyvazov outlined the key tasks facing the Internal Troops and provided instructions and recommendations.
Then, orders signed by the Minister of Internal Affairs and Deputy Minister - Commander of the Internal Troops regarding the awarding of a group of military personnel for their distinguished service were announced, and the awards were presented to the recipients.    
The event continued with a cultural program.
