The measures taken by the internal affairs bodies of the republic to combat illicit drug trafficking continue. As a result of intelligence operations carried out in this direction, on January 5, about 25 kilograms of various types of narcotic drugs were withdrawn from circulation, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

Thus, more than 14 grams of marijuana were found from the previously convicted Shahin Aliyev, who was detained as a result of operations carried out by officers of the 29th police station of the Yasamal District Police Department based on the information received. In addition, as a result of subsequent intelligence operations, about 22.5 kg of marijuana were seized from his home.

As a result of other intelligence operations, more than 451 grams of heroin were seized from a resident of Baku city, previously convicted Sardar Valeyev, by officers of the 13th police station of the Sabunchu District Police Department.
The detainees were handed over to the investigation along with physical evidence.

In connection with the aforementioned facts, a criminal case was initiated and necessary investigative and intelligence measures are being taken under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code.
