On June 23, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of military unit of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Shirvan city.

Colonel General Ramil Usubov, the Minister of Internal Affairs reported to the head of state.

President Ilham Aliyev was reported that the construction of new buildings in the military unit began in 2012 and was completed in May 2017. Headquarters, barracks, a canteen, a medical aid post and other buildings have been constructed in the territory of the military unit the total area of which is 8.5 hectares.  The buildings are supplied with the centralized engineering communications systems, including electricity, water-sewage and ventilation, as well as furniture and equipment. A vehicle fleet, a shooting camp, a guard station, warehouses, and a state-of-the-art bath and laundry complex have been created within the territory. There is also a military parade square covering 8 sq meters in the military unit territory. At the training section of the military unit the shooting, communication, tactical training, motor vehicle management, organization of road traffic and cooking classes came into the service for the militaries. All classrooms are equipped with necessary equipment and visual aids. Sports facilities are also installed in the courtyard of the military unit. A four-storey barrack is planned to be built here in the future.

A photo stand reflecting national leader Heydar Aliyev's and President Ilham Aliyev's care and attention to army building has been created in the foyer of the headquarter. Briefing and service rooms are supplied with necessary equipments. There has been created a comprehensive condition for high-level military service.

The head of state also visited soldiers' barracks. There are all conditions in the up-to-date constructed barrack for soldiers to stay and rest. Barracks are supplied with warm floor and air conditioner. There are vast opportunities to efficiently organize the leisure time of the soldiers in the barrack too. Ideological and living rooms, a barber shop, and property warehouse are also put at the soldiers’ disposal. In short, these conditions show that the steps, taken for the further improvement of the army building of Azerbaijan Government, as well as the serving condition of Internal Troops’ soldiers, became constant. It also proves that today the Azerbaijani soldiers are trained in the most advanced military units. This, of course, is possible in thanks to the care and attention of the Commander-in-Chief.

Then the head of the state got acquainted with the weapons and military equipment of the Internal Troops. Today Internal Troops is one of the most advanced military forces for its fighting capacity, material and technical supplement, and military technical equipments. Internal Troops which is one of the important structural parts of the unique system of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan Republic adequately implement protection of welfare of the community and state, citizens’ constitutional rights and their freedom from assaults, security of the important state facilities and communication devices, public order maintenance and other duties prescribed by law.

Then President Ilham Aliyev became familiar with the conditions created in the soldier canteen of the military unit. All necessary conditions have been provided for soldiers’ nutrition. 320 soldiers can use the canteen at the same time. There are bread, fish, meat, vegetable, dry-goods and classrooms in the canteen.

The medical aid post of the military unit is also up-to-date. All necessary conditions are created for providing high-level medical aids to the enlisted personnel. There are hospital wards, drug-store, canteen, bandaging and other necessary rooms in the post. The enlisted personnel will be provided with physiotherapy, dental and other medical services here.

Estate maintenance and greening works have been carried out within the territory of the military unit.
