Police sportsmen measured their strengths at sporting competition

According to MIA Press Service a championship on self-defense without a gun was held on January 21-23 among the officers of the internal affairs bodies.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of this event which took place at the Sports Society of MIA, Olympic, World and European champion, chairman of the Sports Society, police colonel Zemfira Meftakhetdinova greeted the participants and guests, wished success to the sportsmen. She spoke about the importance of this competition held with the purpose of increasing physical fitness of the staff, better mastering self-defense without a gun subjects.
Mentioning the labor of the officers of the internal affairs bodies, who gained worldwide success, in getting Azerbaijan known in the world as a strong sports country, she stated that police officers and their trainees were among those awarded by the head of the state at the meeting dedicated to the sports results of 2018 and regarded the valuable presents as a worthy appraisal of the police sportsmen’s labor.
The staff of Ganja and Sumgait city, regional Main Police Department, Department and Stations, Head Department of the Internal Troops, combatant forces and educational institutions demonstrated their skills alongside with the Baku city.
In this competition where participated about 90 officers from 11 teams, the first three places were taken by Police Special Reaction Regiment, teams of the Head Department of the MIA Internal Troops and Sumgait city Police Department.
Police Lieutenant-colonels Elnur Hasanov, Oruj Munirov, Mahir Ahmadov, Seymur Gurbanbeyov, police major Zaur Majidov, police captains Aydin Hashimov, Dayanat Aghayev, Honored coaches Hikmat Hajiyev and Rasul Mammadov took part in the administering of the competition.
Speaking at the awarding ceremony the chief of the Sports organization department, Police lieutenant-colonel Mulayim Khidirov mentioned the high level of preparation of the officers and increase of the experience of the police sportsmen year by year. M.Khidirov stated that relevant tasks are regularly assigned in the region alongside with the capital to increase the efficiency of the physical trainings held for the staff of the police bodies and for better mastering by the officers of the self-defense without a gun techniques.
